When a new assignment is available to you, you will get an automated email. Click the “Click here for more details,” button in the email to see the assignment.
Log into the contributor portal, then you can view the assignment details by clicking the red arrow button at the top right of the screen. The information provided includes briefing, due dates, and payment details. You may also find files uploaded by Highlights for you to review. To download them, simply click on the file and select DOWNLOAD from the right panel.
When you are ready to upload and submit your work, click the UPLOAD button click BROWSE FILES (or drag and drop your work). You can upload multiple files by clicking, ADD FILES. When all files you wish to submit appear on the right-hand side of your screen, click START UPLOAD.
To add a comment, select the file on the right-hand side, scroll down to the “Communication” tab, and write your comment. When you are finished, click the “Send” icon.
When you are ready to submit your work, click SUBMIT FOR REVIEW. You will get a pop-up window asking you to add any “Tags” and your preferred “Byline.” (This is how your name will appear in our product). When you are ready, click YES.
Once you submit, that assignment will appear under the "Submitted" tab. You will not be able to add more files until it is returned to you, but you can add more comments if you wish. You will also receive an email notification letting you know that the submission is now with the Highlights team for review.
Uploading Revisions or Final
If Highlights requests revisions or final after reviewing your work, you will get an automated email. Click the “Click here for more details,” button in the email to see the assignment. Log into the Contributor portal. You may notice your previous upload have new comments with feedback from Highlights. From the right-hand side, scroll down to the “Communication” tab to see any comments.
After you revised your work and are ready to submit updated files, follow the same steps you completed for your initial submission, clicking UPLOAD -> BROWSE FILES. Add as many files as you wish, then click START UPLOAD. When you are ready to submit your work, click SUBMIT FOR REVIEW. You will see the same “Tags” and “Byline” from your initial submission. You can update if needed. Click YES when ready to submit.
Invoicing
If payment is going directly to you (rather than through an agent), please take time to update your “Profile” in the portal. Having an up-to-date profile will speed payment processing for your assignment.
Once your Highlights contact receives the final work, you will get an email that states your assignment for $X.XX has been submitted for processing and will be paid in approximately 30 days. This email also includes your assignment's reference number, which can be used should you have any questions regarding payment. Please note there is no need to send an invoice to your Highlights contact. The system handles everything for you and us!
Profile
Changing your profile
You can modify your portal user details and change your password in your Profile area. Click the Profile navigation item on the left.
To make changes to your user details, click on the "edit" icon in the right navigation panel. The icon will then be replaced by the appropriate options to edit your information. You can also upload a profile picture if you wish. Once you have made the desired changes, click "Save" to confirm or "Cancel" to undo.
Contract terms
After logging into the portal for the first time, you will be asked to accept the contract terms. These terms can also be reviewed at any time by accessing your user profile and clicking on the "Terms" tab. To view the terms, select the contract from the dropdown menu.
